Granted, the combinations aren’t nearly as phoned-in as Squeak Squad either. If you’re expecting the amazing and sometimes totally weird copy combinations from Kirby Crystal Shards, you’ll be sorely disappointed. While combining abilities to form brand new ones is great, it’s not nearly as fun as it could have been. This is Kirby after all, it’s user-friendly to a fault. It takes some getting used to when it comes to assembling the right team with the right abilities, but it’s far from challenging. In an instant, your foe is now on your side. Instead of sacrificing an ability to spawn a helper, Kirby tosses a heart at an enemy. Like Kirby Super Star before it, you must rely on the power of friendship. Kirby Star Allies, his latest adventure, doesn’t introduce anything that seasoned Kirby veterans won’t recognize. The pink puffball has changed very little since his debut on the Game Boy. This game has evolved pretty well over the time.As the tides turn and the sands of time fall ever quicker into the hourglass, gaming changes at almost exponential levels. Nevertheless it was a fun and enjoyable experience that I don't want a miss.
Which are easily the best two games in the series for me. It comes not even close to "Kirby Planet Robobot" or "Kirby and the forgotten Land". The only problem is, that this game lacks of originality. I like the things you can unlock, because it feels like a tribute to Kirby and the franchise itself. I like the new challenging mode, with his tricky and clever puzzles.
In my case I like the opportunity to form a team of allies with characters like Magolor, Gooey or Suzi from the previous games. So in the end this Game transformed into a solid game for all who like Kirby or be fans of the franchise. However I like all the characters which were added step by step and the new mode with harder versions of the bosses is exactly the addition the game has needed. The story mode on it's own would be only a 6/10 and can easy be summarized as an basic short Kirby Game.

Having a lovely day/night, folks! … Expand In conclusion, Kirby Star Allies is a great game for casual gamers and fans, but I'd recommend waiting for a price drop. Indie games that are 15 bucks have lasted me over hundreds of hours. 60 bucks for a game that'll only last you a few hours is laughable.
The pricing point of this game is also pretty ridiculous. I'm not massive about fps, but DS Kirby games running at 60 fps and Star Allies running at 30 fps feels like a big downgrade. Perhaps the biggest problem about this game is that it just sorta feels like a downgrade to its successors on the DS. The music is amazing and there are loads of peppy bangers to get your day started. It's incredibly charming and cute to see little details such as friends dancing with you after a well-deserved victory. One major complaint I have is that there are no difficulty options in the main campaign, making this game stale to those who want a challenge or frustrating for those somehow having a rough time. Friends can turn into your converted enemies to join in the chaos. You can only have 4 friends at once though. Kirby's new gimmick is that he can toss a friend heart to convert his foes into his very own paisanos. Kirby can float by mashing the jump button which can make some areas pretty cheesable. If you consume your enemies, you can gain their powers. The co-op mode is a blast and Kirby's accessibility is always a plus. Kirby's new Kirby Star Allies is a really fun Kirby game, but it does have some questionable design choices.
